Logging in to Your Account

There are three methods you can choose from to log in to HourStack: Sign in with Apple, Google Sign-In, or an email and password combination of your own choosing.

Forgotten Password

You can request a password reset at any time. If you do decide to reset your password, we'll email you a link. This is so that we can verify the email belongs to you and that you are the owner of the account. The link in the email will take you to a form where you can enter your new password.

Sign in With Apple and Google Sign-in

If you are using Apple or Google sign-in options, you must always authenticate or log in with the same email address/account that you originally signed up with. These sign-in options provide us with the email address that you have authenticated with, which we use to match up to your account in HourStack. If you select a different email/account when signing into your provider, we won't be able to find a matching HourStack account.

Login to an Account Created with a Password

It is possible to use Google Sign In to log in to an existing account that was originally set up with a password. This is done by matching your email address since Google Sign In has verified that you are the owner of the email address and therefore the owner of the HourStack account.

Add a Password to an Account Created with Apple or Google

Apple and Google sign-in options bypass the need for a password on HourStack. That said, if you prefer to have a password, you can request a password reset and follow the instructions to set up a unique password. You can then log in with the original sign-in provider; Apple or Google, or with your email and password.

Updating Your Email Address

If you update your email address in HourStack, you'll no longer be able to sign in with Apple or Google unless your new email address is also from Apple or Google.
